The Park at River Walk
The Park at Riverwalk is a stunning outdoor area located close to the Kern River in Bakersfield, CA. It was created in the 1990 when development around the area created an L-shaped area. This area was ultimately donated to the city and turned into a beautiful park.
The park is home to two stunning lakes joined by a scenic stream. You can lounge around the lakes which are fairly large – one is sized at around 3 acres, the other at around 2 acres. Alternatively, you can walk by the stream which runs a fair distance between the two lakes and is forded through four bridges. There are a number of other water features and the fun part is that you can take a dip in the water as well. This is precisely why the park is a popular family destination during the hot summer days. The park has plenty of shaded trees and picnic tables, so you can be sure to have an awesome time here on your own or with your family. The picnic tables accommodate 14 to 48 people, so even group visits will not be disappointed. If you want a walk in the serene park while also indulging a love for fishing, the park has got you covered. The lower lake is a popular fishing spot and offers plenty of fishing opportunities. At the centre of the park is the Bright House Amphitheatre. This open-air theatre has plenty of seating and puts on regular shows for the park visitors. Be sure to check out the theater schedule and upcoming events if you want to enjoy it during your park visit. Apart from the water activities and opportunities for walking and jogging, the park is also popular with the bicyclists. With numerous trails meandering through the trees and grassy landscape, these bike trails offer a great place to take a ride on your bicycle. After a long day on the lake its always nice to come home to a pristine pool. Check us out here. The Park at Riverwalk is a popular place in Bakersfield CA.
